The French hip hop band Scarecrow will be making a rare appearance in New York City this summer. The Toulouse based outfit combines English and French raps over “blues hip hop” live music, an homage to two American musical traditions but with a South of France twist.

Scarecrow is fronted by Antibiotik Daw (MC and DJ) along side Slim Paul (blues guitar), Jamo (bass) and La Pap (drums). They combine groove and consciousness for a dark and explosive performance.

Their appearance in New York (At DROM, June 17) is part of the seven week long Francerocks Summerfest, highlighting dozens of the best French bands. On either side, they will be rounding out their North American trip with shows in Montreal (Francofolies, June 14/15) and central New York (Falcon Arts, Marlboro, NY, June 18).
