The Hip Hop World Cup Mixtape celebrates two of the world’s greatest unifying forces: soccer and hip hop culture. Soccer – or football to most of the world – is the world’s game, played on every corner of the Earth. Hip Hop culture exists in virtually every country in the world as a “voice of the voiceless”. During this time of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, it is only fitting that World Hip Hop Market brings you a celebration of hip hop from 31 World Cup participating countries. (North Korea was not represented on the mixtape due to the as yet unfound hip hop in that country.)

World Hip Hop Market is dedicated to promoting hip hop culture that exists on a global scale. The mixtape represents some of the most progressive hip hop voices from every continent including South American star Anita Tijoux and British social rights activist Mohammed Yahya.
